KS1 General Teaching Assistant

Hours: 19.5 hours per week/39 weeks per year plus paid holidays = 44.7

(8.30am - 4.00pm 3 days per week)

Salary: Grade 1/2 point 1-5 (£20,658 - £22,185 pa) £9,593 - £10,300 pro rata

Contract: Temporary until end of Summer Term.

Start: 01 January 2022

 

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, positive, hardworking and committed  teaching assistant to join our team. You will be a positive role model for pupils to emulate, caring, enthusiastic and able to show initiative. The successful applicant will be committed, flexible and reliable. This role will initially be within one of our Year 1 classrooms. The post will involve working within the classroom and leading a Read Write Inc phonics group.  It may also involve working on a one to one or small group basis with a child or children with additional learning or behavioural support needs.

It would be beneficial for the candidate to have some experience with leading RWI Phonics groups, delivering speech and language interventions and to be familiar with programmes such as Clicker and Widgit to support learning.

• work under the direction of the class teacher whilst also showing initiative, when required
