At Crownfield Junior, we believe in working as a team for the children that we are responsible for and care for. We believe that our children are at the centre of all we do and we encourage and support them to be the best that they can be. We treat the children as individuals and understand that their needs are unique to them.
We are looking for someone new, someone like-minded, to join our well-motivated, happy team. We would like to appoint an enthusiastic, organised person who has experience in supporting students with their learning both within the classroom and in intervention groups. Cover will be expected during lunchtimes for children who may need 1 to 1 support. Previous experience of working with young children, preferably KS2, is essential as is a good standard of Literacy and Numeracy. Experience of working with children with barriers to learning would also be desirable.
Our Ofsted Report in June 2018 stated:
‘The school has a strong culture of care. Pupils are extremely polite and well behaved. In lessons, they are engaged in their learning and listen to one another respectfully’.
We are lucky to be set in beautiful grounds. Our children are great to work with: polite, enthusiastic, hard working with a sense of fun! We have a very stable staff who work together for the good of the children – they have a sense of humour too! We are also currently expanding from a 3 form to a 4 form entry.
The LSA would work under the direction of the Senior Management Team, the SENCo and class teachers.
Please phone our reception on 01708 747070 if you need further information. You may also wish to look at our website and Facebook page.

Havering Schools are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The protection of our pupils from abuse is the responsibility of all staff within our schools, superseding any other considerations. Therefore Havering Schools comply with the Department for Education ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ guidance.
It is an offence to apply for a post which involves engaging in regulated activity relevant to children if you are barred from doing so. Please be advised that, again in line with ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’, shortlisted candidates (who wish to accept an invite to interview) will be required to submit, prior to their interview, a self-declaration of their criminal record or information that would make them unsuitable to work with children. Upon submission of this information, online checks may be carried out.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974; the successful applicant will be expected to undertake an enhanced DBS disclosure check. Having a criminal record will not necessarily debar you from obtaining a position with the School.
