Actual Salary: £34,894 - £37,803 p.a.
Hours: 36 hours per week, 41 weeks per year.

Corbets Tey School is a successful special school with supportive governors, staff and 148 very special students on role across two sites. We are looking for a skilled, passionate, enthusiastic and dynamic practitioner to lead a small team to enhance our commitment to achieving positive outcomes and wellbeing for our children and their families. We would like to appoint a practitioner who will work to strengthen our families’ resilience and support them in being proactive in their own futures. With a firm focus on achieving positive outcomes the successful candidate will work closely with our vulnerable families to support positive changes and enable family health and wellbeing. We are looking for the right person to continue to strengthen our safeguarding arrangements to protect our children and families from abuse and to focus on early intervention and prevention through parent information sessions and training. The successful candidate will work with other agencies to provide seamless care and support for our families. The role will support students to have full access to educational opportunities, overcome barriers to learning and participation and support their mental health and wellbeing by creating open dialogue with families and other professionals involved in their lives.
The main responsibilities of the role:
- To lead the team of Safeguarding and Family Support Practitioners
- To develop positive and constructive partnerships in supporting and advising families, parents, carers and students
- To support students’ full access to educational opportunities and to overcome barriers to learning and participation
- To engage with local authority and community support professionals to achieve better outcomes for students and their families
- To promote and monitor the best quality service and outcomes for children and young people who are looked after or entitled to the pupil premium.
- To act as one of a number of deputy designated safeguarding leads
The successful candidate will need to
- Display excellent communication skills and ability to build effective working relationships and lead teams
- Manage conflict and difference and deal with difficult situations and/or individuals in a calm, fair but effective manner
- Understand the importance of confidentiality
- Excellent organisation, time and workload management under minimal day-to-day supervision and support
- A thorough understanding of child care, parenting skills, parental development and healthy parent-child relationships
- A thorough understanding of the range of potential barriers to learning for students
- A thorough understanding of Safeguarding/child protection frameworks and how to assess and manage intervention
- Experience within the field of education, social services/welfare or the voluntary sector and have a degree level qualification
