Teaching Assistant 

Hours :  32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year 8:30am- 4pm (with 1 hour lunch), 5 days per week,

Grade: 1/2 Point 1-5

Salary : £21,228 - £22,575 per annum (£16,428 - £17,421 pro rata)

Contract : Permanent 

Start: 1st September 2022


We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, positive, hardworking and committed  teaching assistant to join our team. You will be a positive role model for pupils to emulate, caring, enthusiastic and able to show initiative. The successful applicant will be committed, flexible and reliable. This role will initially be within our Reception classroom which will involve supporting learning in our inside and outside learning environments throughout the seasons.


The post will involve working within the classroom and  teaching a Read Write Inc phonics group.  It may also involve working on a one to one or small group basis with a child or children with additional learning or behavioural support needs.


It would be beneficial for the candidate to have some experience with leading speech and language interventions (e.g. NELI, speech and language link) and to be familiar with activities such as observation and assessment.


The successful candidate will:

  • be a proactive, positive role model for pupils
  • ideally have some experience working with children in an educational setting
  • be committed, flexible and reliable
  • work well in a team 
  • have a positive attitude 
  • show empathy
  • work under the direction of the class teacher whilst also showing initiative, when required
