At Crownfield Junior, we believe in working as a team for the children that we are responsible for and care for. We believe that our children are at the centre of all we do, encouraging and supporting them to be the best that they can be. We treat the children as individuals and understand that their needs are unique to them.

We are extremely proud of our school and the broad curriculum we offer. We are partners with the Mawney Foundation School as the Learning and Achieving Federation through which we are exchanging good practice and resources to continue our journeys forward.

Our Ofsted Report in July 2023 stated:

‘Pupils at this school are kind, polite and hardworking. They are cooperative and respectful’.  ‘Staff feel well-supported by leaders.’

We are looking for someone new, someone like-minded, to join our well-motivated, happy team as an Assistant Caretaker.

We can offer:

  • A working environment which is fun and supportive;
  • Motivated and well-behaved pupils from a wide range of backgrounds;
  • The opportunity to join a highly professional and motivated team;
  • Friendly, supportive staff who are committed to collaborative team work;
  • The opportunity to develop and progress further both professionally and personally;
  • IT facilities to support you in your role.

The successful candidate will need to have relevant experience, qualifications and IT skills.

They will also need to have excellent interpersonal skills to enable them to work in partnership with pupils, staff, parents/carers as well as the School Site Manager.

It is essential you have a willingness to become involved in school and community activities.

They must also be proactive, working well as part of a team as well as alone.

If you think that you have the experience, energy, enthusiasm and skills to fit into our continually improving school, applications can be submitted online.

Visits to the school are encouraged and warmly welcomed. Please contact the School Office on 01708 747070 to arrange a tour of the school.

Closing Date:  Friday 12th April 2024 at 12pm

Interviews: W/C 15th April 2024

Safeguarding

Havering Schools are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The protection of our pupils from abuse is the responsibility of all staff within our schools, superseding any other considerations. Therefore Havering Schools comply with the Department for Education ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ guidance.

It is an offence to apply for a post which involves engaging in regulated activity relevant to children if you are barred from doing so. Please be advised that, again in line with ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’, shortlisted candidates (who wish to accept an invite to interview) will be required to submit, prior to their interview, a self-declaration of their criminal record or information that would make them unsuitable to work with children. Upon submission of this information, online checks may be carried out.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974; the successful applicant will be expected to undertake an enhanced DBS disclosure check. Having a criminal record will not necessarily debar you from obtaining a position with the School.

Equal Opportunities

Havering Schools aim to promote and ensure equality of opportunity and equal treatment for all. We are committed to equal opportunities in employment regardless of gender, marital status, race, colour, nationality (including citizenship), ethnic or national origins, disabilities, age, sexual orientation, responsibility for dependants, religious or political affiliation and trade union activities. All matters related to employment are decided on the basis of qualifications, merit and business need.
