We are recruiting for Learning Support Assistants to work 1:1 with EHCP children in September. Contracts will be on a fixed term basis. At this time we do not know which year group or which children the successful candidate will be working with due to the information still coming in about the new intake in September 2024.
We are a good school from our Ofsted in June 2023, and are at an exciting time under new leadership for September with the new Headteacher coming in to post. At the heart of everything we do is the school community and the people who work together to make this: children, staff, parents and governors. We believe that, by providing a school in which everyone feels secure, knowing that they matter and are cared for, we create an atmosphere where learning is encouraged and developed, ensuring our children are always striving to get better.
This is an exciting opportunity for a person who is keen to learn and develop within our vibrant staff team. The successful applicant will have a thirst for learning and a passion for making a real difference to the lives of our children.
Visits to the school are strongly encouraged, please telephone Hayley Durrant, current Headteacher, for more information or for an appointment to make an informal visit.
Please apply online.
Closing Date: Tuesday 21st May 2024 at 12:00 noon
Interview Date: Week beginning Monday, 3rd June 2024
This post is exempt from the provision of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974; the successful applicant will be expected to undertake an enhanced disclosure. Please note online searches will be carried out on shortlisted candidates on publicly available information that would affect their suitability to work with children.
Havering Schools are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The protection of our pupils from abuse is the responsibility of all staff within our schools, superseding any other considerations. Therefore Havering Schools comply with the Department for Education ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ guidance.
It is an offence to apply for a post which involves engaging in regulated activity relevant to children if you are barred from doing so. Please be advised that, again in line with ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’, shortlisted candidates (who wish to accept an invite to interview) will be required to submit, prior to their interview, a self-declaration of their criminal record or information that would make them unsuitable to work with children. Upon submission of this information, online checks may be carried out.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974; the successful applicant will be expected to undertake an enhanced DBS disclosure check. Having a criminal record will not necessarily debar you from obtaining a position with the School.
