Literacy Lead

Salary: Equivalent MPS (Outer London)  TLR3 £2500

Start Date: Required for September 2024 start 

Contract:  Permanent

 

We seek to appoint an outstanding teacher to join our English Faculty. The successful applicant will be instrumental in contributing towards the continued development of our faculty as we strive for excellence.  The successful applicant will be part of a team that ensures high quality first teaching and targeted student intervention programmes which lead to excellent student progress. This post would be ideal for either a strong ambitious and aspiring teacher or a qualified and experienced teacher. The faculty is a strength of the school and there is real expertise and passion within the area.  The faculty work well as a team and can offer a supportive and happy environment that both staff and students enjoy.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee whole school literacy initiatives
  • Develop a love for literacy and reading throughout the school
  • Implement testing and intervention strategies
  • Contribute to the improvement of English in all departments
  • Promote the use of the school library
  • Teacher of English
  • Engage parents in a literacy journey

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in driving literacy improvements
  • Strong background in testing and intervention methods
  • Expertise in English teaching
