Start Date: 1st September 2024

As a result of the promotion of our current postholder, we are looking to recruit a new Reception year group leader to join our Squirrels team. The successful candidate will teach within the reception year group and have the expertise and skills to continue to drive improvement within our creative and play led environment. We are a strong, committed team aiming for excellence.

If you are passionate about teaching and love learning then we would love to hear from you!

A sound knowledge of child development and the EYFS curriculum is essential. We are a RWI school.

Our pupils are friendly, well-behaved and motivated to learn; our parents are supportive and engaged. Our staff are hardworking and dedicated to ensuring that the needs of our pupils are met through an age appropriate and purposeful curriculum

Our little Squirrels would like a teacher who:

“Is happy, kind and fun”

“Plays games with us and reads us stories”

“Is always here to help us”

“Is good at Maths and Phonics”

"Tells us what to do if we are having trouble with our friends”

We are a thriving three form entry infant school on the outskirts of Romford with a happy and nurturing ethos. Ofsted recognised the “school’s sense of community and commitment to developing a curriculum that engages the interests and needs of the children”. We are passionate for all to achieve their very best and will do all we can to support this.

In addition we can offer you:

  • An exceptional team of staff to lead
  • A full time teaching assistant
  • Leaders that value staff wellbeing and the effective management of workload
  • Teachmate AI!
  • A staff assistance programme that includes access to counselling, legal and medical support
  • Access to the Teachers’ Pension scheme
  • Professional development opportunities and leadership progression
  • A nurturing school environment and lots of fun!

Closing Date: Friday 17th May 2024 - 12pm.

Interview Date: 22nd May 2024.

The school follows safer recruitment practices and the successful applicants will be required to apply for an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check. Safeguarding

Havering Schools are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The protection of our pupils from abuse is the responsibility of all staff within our schools, superseding any other considerations. Therefore Havering Schools comply with the Department for Education ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ guidance.

It is an offence to apply for a post which involves engaging in regulated activity relevant to children if you are barred from doing so. Please be advised that, again in line with ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’, shortlisted candidates (who wish to accept an invite to interview) will be required to submit, prior to their interview, a self-declaration of their criminal record or information that would make them unsuitable to work with children. Upon submission of this information, online checks may be carried out.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974; the successful applicant will be expected to undertake an enhanced DBS disclosure check. Having a criminal record will not necessarily debar you from obtaining a position with the School.
