Grade 1/2 Points 2 - 5

Hours: 7.5 hours per week - 11:30 - 13:00

38 weeks per year Plus 5.7 weeks paid holiday

Actual Salary: £4,514 - £4,719 p.a.

Contract: Fixed Term 1 year contract

Start: As soon as possible

We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic Midday Assistant to join our team.  The successful candidate will support children with specific health needs during lunchtime, ensuring they are safe, engaged, and included in all activities. 

Key Responsibilities
• Provide support to children with specific health needs during lunchtime, ensuring their dietary and medical requirements are met. 
• Assist children in play and social activities, fostering an inclusive environment.
• Supervise children in the dining hall, ensuring a safe and positive lunchtime experience. 
• Encourage positive social interactions among children and support their social development. 
• Monitor and support children’s well-being and safety during playtime. 
• Assist with setup and cleaning of the dining hall and play areas.
• Setup and lead lunchtime games and activities.
• Communicate effectively with teaching staff regarding any concerns or observations. 

Requirements
• Patience, empathy and a positive attitude.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team. 
• Basic understanding of health and safety practices. 

Desired Skills
• First Aid certificate (or the desire to complete the specific training).
• Experience with specific health or Special Educational Needs.
• Knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
• Flexibility and ability to use own initiative.
• Be competent using basic IT equipment.
