Ofsted

An opportunity has arisen to join this high achieving, successful, well-ordered and caring mixed comprehensive school for students aged eleven to sixteen in which students have very positive attitudes towards their learning and are supported fully in all aspects of wellbeing.

At Redden Court School we prioritise the development of outstanding teaching and learning alongside wellbeing.  All members of the school community are cared for, valued and listened to, we support and challenge our students to aspire to be the very best that they can be; enabling them to be responsible, capable and ambitious citizens. We have the highest expectations of our students and staff.

We invest in our staff to help them to become the best possible teachers they can be. There are excellent opportunities for people who work hard. Effort is often recognised in career development. Many who came to us as NQTs now have substantial leadership roles. Our CPD programme and collegiate approach are highly effective.

If you are an inspiring, enthusiastic leader or aspiring leader of Computer Science who recognises that the best practitioners always want to improve, we would like to talk to you.  This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a forward thinking school and department.

Our Digital Faculty currently consists of Computer Science, Information Technology and Business Studies, with a variety of experience ranging across these subject areas. We are looking for someone to lead the Computer Science wing, building upon the solid foundation in place and shaping the future of this important subject. We are innovative with our curriculum and always open to exploring new qualifications and opportunities for our students. This is why we would also consider candidates who may have more experience in Information Technology and Creative i-Media than Computer Science.

Computing is embedded into our KS3 curriculum with dedicated periods on our timetable each week, along with an extra slot for Information Technology taught on a carousel through Years 7-9. GCSE Computer Science and BTEC Digital IT are currently options available for our KS4 cohort and remain popular choices.

We have 3 dedicated Computing suites which are fully equipped and have all been updated with new PCs in the past year. We are also a 1:1 Chromebook school with many students owning their own device to use inside and outside of school to support their learning. We are an Edtech Demonstrator school for the Department for Education and an internationally recognised Google Reference School. We have gained early access to the latest hardware and software as a result of this and are often asked to pilot new groundbreaking technology.

We understand the important role that computing and digital technologies play in the future of our school and students, which is why it is embedded into our whole school priorities and vision. We also have an Edtech Team consisting of a Director of Technology and a range of staff from our teaching, associate, middle leadership and senior leadership teams who are enthusiastic practitioners of enhancing teaching and learning with the effective use of technology, and we are excited about the next steps of this project.

Child places at Redden Court School are available for staff who are employed at the school (please ask for more details).
