SEND Teacher 

To support complex SEND in the Mead Primary School SEND Unit

Salary: Main Scale/UPR (ECT’s welcome to apply) + SEN Allowance (£2,679)

Hours: Full time 

Contract: Permanent

Reports to: SEND Unit Lead Teacher

Staff managed: SEND Unit support staff team

 

We are seeking to appoint a primary teacher with a passion and expertise in supporting children with high needs to work with our ASD/SEN pupils in the Mead SEND Unit.

In addition to the main responsibilities of a Teacher, working alongside the SEND Unit Lead teacher, you will also carry the responsibilities set out below:

  1. Day to day running of the SEND Unit - timetables, meetings, outside agencies, curriculum, integration of children, including Intimate care as required
  2. Planning and delivering a personalised curriculum, working on children’s targets, interventions and activities (whole class, 1-1 and small group)
  3. Liaising with parents for IEP Reviews and Annual EHCP Reviews
  4. Liaising with external agencies within the Local Authority (CAD 0-5 and 5-19)implementing targets from speech therapist, educational psychologist, occupational therapist, CAMHS
  5. Manage a dedicated team of learning support staff who have a wide range of knowledge, skills and SEND knowledge
  6. Support Staff Development through performance management & leading CPD
  7. Liaison with the Inclusion team and Senior Leadership Team
