Lettings Assistant

Salary: Scale 3, SP 5 (£15.68 per hour, plus holiday pay)

St Edward’s Church of England Academy is a secondary school in Romford, part of the Unity Schools Partnership Trust, which strives to provide a supportive, diverse and inclusive learning environment for staff and students.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lettings Assistant to join the school and be a point of contact for out of school hours event bookings, working to provide friendly and efficient customer service.

 

Main Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Locking and unlocking the premises when there is a booking.
  • Maintaining a visible, friendly and approachable presence during lettings to ensure that customer service standards are met.
  • Ensuring there is no unauthorised access during the hiring period.
  • Communicating effectively with customers renting the facilities and ensuring all needs are catered for where possible.
  • Setting up equipment for different activities within the facilities, e.g. sports equipment, tables and chairs.

About you:

The successful candidate will ensure hirers are following guidelines/procedures correctly, and be responsible for the locking/unlocking of the buildings. They will also be ensuring the security of the premises and monitoring visitors in order to keep in line with fire safety regulations.

Requirements:

  • Be physically able to undertake the manual aspects of this role i.e. moving equipment or furniture
  • Have awareness of Health & Safety issues
  • Be comfortable working alone, and in a team
  • Have excellent communication skills both written and orally (face to face and telephone)
  • Be comfortable dealing with customer complaints
  • Have previous experience where customer service has been used i.e. dealing with members of the public

Hours of working/lettings where needed:

  • Weekends 8:30am-11pm – hours variable
  • Weekdays 5-8pm – hours variable

Flexible hours are required on occasions throughout the year to suit the school, including cover for absence, if necessary. Any additional hours to be worked in agreement with the Trust.

This is an ad hoc position, with working patterns usually falling at weekends so flexibility is essential, so if you are looking for a role that could possibly fit around other commitments then we look forward to receiving your application.

Candidates with the relevant experience or job titles of; Lettings Administration, Lettings Manager, Experienced Letting Assistant, Lettings Advertising, Estate Agent, Lettings Organiser, will be considered for this role, however, lettings experience is not Essential.
