Post Start Date: September 2026

The Aspire Learning Federation was established in March 2022 between Elm Park Primary School and The RJ Mitchell Primary School. Both schools have a highly inclusive philosophy. We set high expectations for all our pupils and provide high quality pastoral care and support for our most vulnerable pupils. Anyone applying for this post will be employed by the Aspire Learning Federation and may therefore be required to work across both schools. In the first instance, this post is to work at Elm Park Primary School.

Our motto is ‘aspiring to be the best we can be!’ which we try to live by every day. We want to ‘grow’ good people, who are inspired to make a difference to their lives and the lives of others. Our behaviour management philosophy is based on the ‘restorative’ approach. We provide our children with a creative and innovative curriculum that embeds basic solid skills. We have a bright and modern school building and we are a ‘Google Champion’ school, as digital technology plays a pivotal role in teaching and learning across the curriculum. We take a personalised approach to the curriculum which promotes self-challenge and independence in learning, as well as inclusion for all, whilst developing key life skills so that our children can become confident, independent and understanding individuals, who are well prepared for life as global citizens. We want the very best for our children and are prepared to work hard to achieve this vision.

Are you a tech savvy teacher who understands how children learn and are an outstanding practitioner and do you love your job with a passion? Then Elm Park is the school for you!

Please see a copy of the job profile for further details regarding the role and responsibilities of the job as well as a copy of our Professional Skills Level Descriptors outlining the skills for a Band 1-3 teacher.

Informal visits to Elm Park School are warmly welcomed and can be arranged by telephoning the Office Manager, Mrs Cath Bragger on 01708 451463.

Please apply online.

Closing date for applications: Friday 10th April 2026

Interviews: W/C 20th April 2026

The Aspire Learning Federation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Everybody who works for the schools within The Aspire Learning Federation is expected to promote and share this commitment.

Safeguarding

Havering Schools are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The protection of our pupils from abuse is the responsibility of all staff within our schools, superseding any other considerations. Therefore Havering Schools comply with the Department for Education ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ guidance.

It is an offence to apply for a post which involves engaging in regulated activity relevant to children if you are barred from doing so. Please be advised that, again in line with ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’, shortlisted candidates (who wish to accept an invite to interview) will be required to submit, prior to their interview, a self-declaration of their criminal record or information that would make them unsuitable to work with children. Upon submission of this information, online checks may be carried out.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974; the successful applicant will be expected to undertake an enhanced DBS disclosure check. Having a criminal record will not necessarily debar you from obtaining a position with the School.

Equal Opportunities

Havering Schools aim to promote and ensure equality of opportunity and equal treatment for all. We are committed to equal opportunities in employment regardless of gender, marital status, race, colour, nationality (including citizenship), ethnic or national origins, disabilities, age, sexual orientation, responsibility for dependants, religious or political affiliation and trade union activities. All matters related to employment are decided on the basis of qualifications, merit and business need.
