Assistant Headteacher - School Improvement

Salary: L12 - L16, £72,009 - £79,157 (FTE)

Contract:  Permanent - Full time or part time  

Required for September 2026 start 

Based across the 4 trust school sites in Havering (The Royal Liberty, Redden Court & Sanders Schools and Rise Park Academies) with some travel to outreach sites.

The post holder will be expected to proactively promote and demonstrate the SFAET Pledge and Principles and as a Trust we focus on a 'Commitment to Success for All' and high levels of aspiration for every member of our community.  The Trust is forward thinking and progressive.  We seek to achieve the very best for our students through the use of a rich variety of educational approaches.

SFAET are seeking an effective School Improvement Leader to coordinate and drive school improvement activity across the Trust, in collaboration with Trust Leaders and outreach schools. Working under the direction of the Trust School Improvement Partners, the postholder will secure high quality teaching, curriculum implementation and measurable improvements in student outcomes. This role is pivotal in translating each school’s vision and values into classroom practice and whole school strategy, ensuring that all students benefit from a rigorous, inclusive and ambitious education.

The postholder will lead evidence informed approaches to raising standards of teaching and learning across the schools and within Trust outreach settings.  It is expected that the successful candidate will;

  • Support strategic planning, school self-evaluation and targeted school improvement interventions.
  • Model and develop excellent pedagogy and coaching for colleagues.
  • Be flexible to work across multiple settings within the Trust and outreach schools to share expertise, support improvement and build capacity.

The successful candidate will have Qualified Teacher Status, successful teaching experience, including in middle management positions or a successful fast track progression route with evidence of relevant continuing professional development.
