EXAMINATIONS OFFICER - July 2019 (to be agreed)
Hours: 36 hours per week x 40 weeks per year - minimum of 6 days holiday (there is the expectation that extra hours will be worked during the main exam period and so some flexibility will be required)

The Campion School is committed to providing the best possible learning and working environment for both pupils and staff and is looking to appoint an Examinations Officer to support the leadership group on the specific issue of running Internal and Public Examinations. Excellent ICT and interpersonal skills will be essential. Previous experience of working in a school environment and of the SIMS system would be an advantage.
A major part of the role will be the maintaining of databases and dealing with queries/correspondence. Adherence to School and Examination Board Regulations is very important, as is the ability to work with Subject Leaders in ensuring the efficient running of examination procedures. The successful applicant will have responsibility for organising a team of invigilators and liaising with relevant staff and examination boards.
You’ll be joining a friendly and supportive team that has cultivated a genuinely cohesive working environment – sharing ideas, best practice and resources.
When joining The Campion School, you’ll find a friendly environment that is geared to ensure that both staff and pupils are happy and equipped for success. Our staff tell us they enjoy working here and this is evidenced by our low staff turnover rates.
Working here, you’ll find that you’re supported in your career and given ample opportunity to continue learning and thrive. Whilst we are a Catholic school, we are very proud to have a diverse team that supports the ethos of the school. This contributes hugely to creating what we feel to be an incredibly welcoming place of work.
Outside the classroom, there is plenty of opportunity to get involved further. We have a keen focus on sport, music and charity work and all staff are welcome to get involved should they wish.
Please apply online.
Closing date: 12 noon, Wednesday 23rd January 2019
Havering Schools are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The protection of our pupils from abuse is the responsibility of all staff within our schools, superseding any other considerations. Therefore Havering Schools comply with the Department for Education ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ guidance.
It is an offence to apply for a post which involves engaging in regulated activity relevant to children if you are barred from doing so. Please be advised that, again in line with ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’, shortlisted candidates (who wish to accept an invite to interview) will be required to submit, prior to their interview, a self-declaration of their criminal record or information that would make them unsuitable to work with children. Upon submission of this information, online checks may be carried out.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974; the successful applicant will be expected to undertake an enhanced DBS disclosure check. Having a criminal record will not necessarily debar you from obtaining a position with the School.
Equal OpportunitiesHavering Schools aim to promote and ensure equality of opportunity and equal treatment for all. We are committed to equal opportunities in employment regardless of gender, marital status, race, colour, nationality (including citizenship), ethnic or national origins, disabilities, age, sexual orientation, responsibility for dependants, religious or political affiliation and trade union activities.
