SEN Teaching Assistant (Working 1:1 with a child with medical and developmental needs)
Hours: 27.5 hours per week for 39 weeks per year (8:30am - 3:15pm)
Grade: APTC 2/3 Points 3 - 6 (depending upon experience)
Pro rata Salary: £13,522 - £14,266 per annum
Contract: Temporary

We are looking to appoint a temporary SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. (There is a possibility the post could be extended)
The position requires a patient, positive and caring individual who can provide curriculum and medical support for a Year 2 child. You will support this pupil to gain confidence and independence under the direction of the class teacher. Any previous experience of working with children with significant learning/medical difficulties would be highly beneficial.
Qualifications -L2 or higher

- Be reliable and calm as the role involves support for a child with medical issues
- Have a general awareness of SEN issues and how to effectively support SEN pupils
- Be an effective communicator with pupils and staff
- Possess good literacy and numeracy skills
- Be able to build and maintain effective relationships with parents
- Be committed to working a part of team under the guidance of the SENCo
Whilst you will be expected to work under the direction of the class teacher, you must also have the ability to use your own initiative to organise tasks and activities, creating simple resources to support the pupil’s work as appropriate. You will be expected to work in partnership and liaise with external agencies to support the child’s learning and development.
