We are seeking an experienced School Sports Coach or similar to take on a joint role as School Games Organiser at Emerson Park Academy and within the local community for a fixed term contract of 1 year. The role offers flexible working arrangements and the opportunity to develop professionally.
The successful candidate will be responsible for getting young people of all abilities competing at intra-school / inter-school level and culminating towards local, regional and national events.
The ideal person will be a self-motivated and innovative sports practitioner who will be able to work strategically in developing new competition partnerships, to work closely with National Governing Bodies and to sustain and develop new links with local clubs and school sports associations.
The Havering Sports Collective is a well-established programme providing opportunities for young people to participate and compete in school sport. Links to the London Youth Games and partnership work with the Youth Sport Trust are essential aspects of the role.

Therefore Havering Schools comply with the Department for Education ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ guidance.
It is an offence to apply for a post which involves engaging in regulated activity relevant to children if you are barred from doing so. Please be advised that, again in line with ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’, shortlisted candidates (who wish to accept an invite to interview) will be required to submit, prior to their interview, a self-declaration of their criminal record or information that would make them unsuitable to work with children. Upon submission of this information, online checks may be carried out.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974; the successful applicant will be expected to undertake an enhanced DBS disclosure check. Having a criminal record will not necessarily debar you from obtaining a position with the School.
