Contract: Permanent

Hylands Primary school is a vibrant, friendly primary school situated in the London Borough of Havering. Our Core Values of respect, responsibility, creativity, determination, courage, compassion and ambition are central to what we expect of all members of the school community.

This is an exciting opportunity for a committed, enthusiastic primary practitioner to join a community where relationships between children and staff are very strong. In July 2016, Ofsted said ‘Pupils’ behaviour is good. Strong relationships and effective support for their welfare result in confident and mature learners. Pupils are proud to be members of Hylands Primary School.’

If you are energetic, driven and want to work at a school where there is a very strong team ethic dedicated to helping children learn and achieve the best possible outcomes, then we strongly encourage you to visit the school and see what we have to offer. Visits from established and Newly Qualified Teachers would be very welcome.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a love of teaching
  • Is enthusiastic, imaginative and committed to fostering a love of learning
  • Has high expectations of behaviour and achievement
  • Has a track record of outstanding practise as a primary practitioner
  • Has excellent interpersonal and organisational skills and is committed to working as part of a team

We offer:

  • A modern, well-resourced environment
  • A team that is committed to raising standards and driving up achievement
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development opportunities
  • A supportive leadership team and governing body

Visits to the school are most welcome and strongly encouraged. Please either telephone the school office or email to make an appointment

Closing date: Friday 13th March 9 a.m

Safeguarding

Havering Schools are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The protection of our pupils from abuse is the responsibility of all staff within our schools, superseding any other considerations. Therefore Havering Schools comply with the Department for Education ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ guidance.

It is an offence to apply for a post which involves engaging in regulated activity relevant to children if you are barred from doing so. Please be advised that, again in line with ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’, shortlisted candidates (who wish to accept an invite to interview) will be required to submit, prior to their interview, a self-declaration of their criminal record or information that would make them unsuitable to work with children. Upon submission of this information, online checks may be carried out.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974; the successful applicant will be expected to undertake an enhanced DBS disclosure check. Having a criminal record will not necessarily debar you from obtaining a position with the School.

Equal Opportunities

Havering Schools aim to promote and ensure equality of opportunity and equal treatment for all. We are committed to equal opportunities in employment regardless of gender, marital status, race, colour, nationality (including citizenship), ethnic or national origins, disabilities, age, sexual orientation, responsibility for dependants, religious or political affiliation and trade union activities. All matters related to employment are decided on the basis of qualifications, merit and business need.
