Benhurst Primary School is looking to recruit a caring and dedicated person to support individual children with special educational needs in a small group and one to one basis. The school has recently undergone many improvements to the school building and is widely recognised as a rapidly improving school. This is an exciting time for the school as it is widely recognised for its commitment to the use of technology to enhance learning opportunities and is a Smart training school.
We have a vacancy for a temporary 1:1 Special Needs Assistant. Initially this will be to work with a particular child and small groups of children in Year R. The successful applicant will initially work as part of our fantastic EYFS team, supporting teachers delivering stimulating learning experiences in line with the National Curriculum, leading interventions and contributing to observations and assessments of children’s learning. The ideal candidate will have experience of working with pupils who have special educational needs. Due to the nature of the role, being able to adapt your supporting methods is essential. You will be a positive, proactive team player who enjoys a challenge. As an experienced Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant, you will have worked with pupils with a range of needs including Speech and Language needs, intimate care needs and Autism in a classroom environment. You will be passionate about teaching, learning and children and have a good level of education. The following are desirable attributes:
