Teaching Assistant - SEND

To start ASAP (notice periods will be taken into consideration)

Hours:      25 hours per week (Term time only)

Grade:      2 points 11-15

Salary:     £11,739 - £11,880 actual salary

Contract:  Initially until 30th August 2019


Hacton Primary School “provides an outstanding education for all pupils”. ‘Teachers throughout the school are highly skilled at motivating pupils to learn exceptionally well’ (OFSTED December 2015 where we were rated Outstanding in all areas)

We moved into a brand new £11.5m school in January of last year and are currently expanding from 2 to 3 form entry).

Hacton is looking to recruit an experienced, dedicated and caring teaching assistant to support individual children with special educational needs on both a one to one and small group basis. The successful candidate is likely to work with pupils with Education Health Care Plans in a number of different year groups. We are looking for a passionate, well educated individual who has the following:

  • Good skills in English and Maths.
  • At least an NVQ2 qualification or equivalent preferably NVQ3 in Primary Education.
  • Experience of work as a teaching assistant within a Primary School and preferably with children with SEN.
  • To be able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Is enthusiastic, flexible and can think on their feet.
  • Has a love of children and learning and wants to make a difference to children’s lives.
