Hours: Part time (2 days a week)
Salary: £16 - £17,000 p.a (2 days a week)
Contract: Fixed Term until July 2026 (potential to extend)
Start Date: January 2026
St Mary’s Hare Park School is a vibrant and nurturing independent primary school seeking a passionate, creative and dedicated Art, Design & Technology Teacher (Years 1–6) to join our Prep team.

At St Mary’s Hare Park School, we are looking for a knowledgeable, enthusiastic and committed professional who is passionate about delivering a vibrant, progressive and skills-based Art and DT curriculum for pupils in Years 1–6.
We are looking for a candidate who:
- holds Qualified Teacher Status
- is highly motivated, enthusiastic and passionate about Art, Design & Technology
- has consistently high expectations of learning, creativity and behaviour
- demonstrates strong subject knowledge and effective pedagogical practice
- can plan, prepare and deliver engaging, inclusive and imaginative lessons
- inspires pupils to take creative risks, solve problems and think critically
- is committed to raising standards and celebrating pupils’ achievements
- has excellent communication and organisational skills
- is confident in integrating ICT and digital design tools into learning
- contributes positively to wider school life, including exhibitions and events
- values teamwork, proactivity and the school’s ethos of Care, Opportunity, Respect and Excellence
- understands safeguarding responsibilities and is committed to pupil welfare
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Teaching high-quality Art and DT lessons across Years 1–6
- Promoting a culture of creativity, innovation and excellence
- Developing engaging projects that reflect contemporary practice and cross-curricular learning
- Leading whole-school displays, exhibitions and enrichment opportunities
- Managing and maintaining resources, equipment and a safe working environment
- Assessing, recording and reporting on pupil progress
- Contributing to curriculum development and long-term planning
- Showcasing pupils’ work across the school and within the wider community
