Salary: £58,000 - £65,000 p.a.

The Campion School is looking for a talented, committed, enthusiastic and innovative colleague to work at a senior level to support the strategic direction of the school through high-quality financial, resource and personnel leadership and management. This is a great opportunity to work in one of the most successful schools in the London area. The position becomes available following the planned retirement of the current Director of Finance and Resources who has been in post since July 2013.

The successful candidate will be a key member of the senior leadership team, able to lead on the financial and administrative management of the School. Other significant responsibilities include the oversight and management of the School's catering provision as well as other business enterprises within school.

Candidates are expected to have the relevant experience and qualifications and should be able to demonstrate outstanding financial, project and administrative management skills. They should also demonstrate an ability to work effectively with all members of the School community, showing initiative and independence when needed. Excellent communication skills and a willingness to respond to and be involved in the daily life of the School are essential.

Appointments made are subject to an Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure.

Whilst we are a Catholic school, we are very proud to have a diverse team that supports the ethos of the school. This contributes hugely to creating what we feel to be an incredibly welcoming place of work. We have a keen focus on sport, music and charity work and all staff are welcome to get involved should they wish.

Safeguarding

Havering Schools are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The protection of our pupils from abuse is the responsibility of all staff within our schools, superseding any other considerations. Therefore Havering Schools comply with the Department for Education ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ guidance.

It is an offence to apply for a post which involves engaging in regulated activity relevant to children if you are barred from doing so. Please be advised that, again in line with ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’, shortlisted candidates (who wish to accept an invite to interview) will be required to submit, prior to their interview, a self-declaration of their criminal record or information that would make them unsuitable to work with children. Upon submission of this information, online checks may be carried out.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974; the successful applicant will be expected to undertake an enhanced DBS disclosure check. Having a criminal record will not necessarily debar you from obtaining a position with the School.

Havering Schools aim to promote and ensure equality of opportunity and equal treatment for all. We are committed to equal opportunities in employment regardless of gender, marital status, race, colour, nationality (including citizenship), ethnic or national origins, disabilities, age, sexual orientation, responsibility for dependants, religious or political affiliation and trade union activities.
