The Royal Liberty School where "pupils are well behaved, respectful and courteous" and "parents value the sense of community, which is palpable throughout the school" (OFSTED February 2019)

We are seeking to appoint a methodical, well organised and enthusiastic colleague to join our school office team.

Some of the main responsibilities of the role would include the administration of educational visits including curriculum enrichment week, co-ordination of incoming deliveries and packages and to support our SENDCO with providing administration for health care plans and reviews.   Additional responsibilities will include the administration of Parentpay and ensuring payments for trips and services are received on time and dealing with enquiries and queries from all school stakeholders.

There would be a requirement for the successful candidate to undertake all relevant first aid training such as diabetic pump training and epi pen training to support the needs of our students.

The hours will be 7 hours per week (1 day per week) for 39 weeks a year.

Royal Liberty is a small comprehensive school for boys situated on a very pleasant Grade II* listed site. The school is in an excellent location, a short walk from the main line Gidea Park station to London Liverpool Street.

Through the Priority Schools Building Programme and Local Authority expansion funding we will be undergoing a refurbishment of the main block and adding new facilities. This will include a brand new Food Technology room and an additional Sports Hall.

We are part of the Success for All Educational Trust with Redden Court School and Sanders School. As an employee you will be covered by our excellent well-being support and medical cover programme through the School Advisory Service (SAS).

The Success for All Educational Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. If successful for this position you will be expected to undertake a disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service before appointment is confirmed. References will be sought on shortlisted candidates before interview.

Safeguarding

Havering Schools are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The protection of our pupils from abuse is the responsibility of all staff within our schools, superseding any other considerations. Therefore Havering Schools comply with the Department for Education ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ guidance.

It is an offence to apply for a post which involves engaging in regulated activity relevant to children if you are barred from doing so. Please be advised that, again in line with ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’, shortlisted candidates (who wish to accept an invite to interview) will be required to submit, prior to their interview, a self-declaration of their criminal record or information that would make them unsuitable to work with children. Upon submission of this information, online checks may be carried out.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974; the successful applicant will be expected to undertake an enhanced DBS disclosure check. Having a criminal record will not necessarily debar you from obtaining a position with the School.

Equal Opportunities

Havering Schools aim to promote and ensure equality of opportunity and equal treatment for all. We are committed to equal opportunities in employment regardless of gender, marital status, race, colour, nationality (including citizenship), ethnic or national origins, disabilities, age, sexual orientation, responsibility for dependants, religious or political affiliation and trade union activities. All matters related to employment are decided on the basis of qualifications, merit and business need.
