Teaching Assistant/Learning Mentor

Hours: Full time hours or part time considered/ 42 weeks per year (Term-time + 8 days during the examination results period).

Salary: Elutec range B £19,382 - £28,563 p.a. (full time equivalent) dependant on qualifications and experience. Salary will be 0.93 pro-rata. 

Contract: Permanent

Start: November 2019

An opportunity has arisen for a Teaching Assistant / Learning Mentor  to join Elutec to support the work of our students.

Terms and Conditions of Employment (key points): 

  • Elutec term time only (200 + 8 days days per year).

You will need to demonstrate the following skills:-

  • Self-motivation and a positive role model
  • An understanding of barriers to learning and the ability to help overcome these
  • An understanding of safeguarding children and families
  • Build appropriate relationships with both children and families
  • To be able to work as part of a team and independently
  • A proven record of working with young people is desirable
  • Ability to engage constructively with young people with different ethnic and social backgrounds
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A good sense of humour
  • Enjoys supporting students with the development of their reading skills
